I've used a little corn starch mixed into some cream to help thicken it up. This is really good with some nice crunchy croutons on top as well.

This is the BEST cream of mushroom soup I've ever had. I did thicken it with a bit more flour than the recipe called for as I like a thicker cream of mushroom soup, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Definitely making this again and again.

Pam:

Even though I've been on this journey going on three years now, doesn't mean that I still don't have a ways to go. I learn something new every day and I realize that little changes in how I consume can make a big difference.

Nice piece. I know what you mean about changing taste buds and the satisfaction that comes of going fresh, natural, organic, local and sustainable. I still have a way to go, but I'm getting there.

Hi Paula,

I stumbled across your website and thought you may be interested in checking out the company I work for.
The Ground Up is a landscape supply company. We manufacture all-organic mulch, soils, and compost and carry a full line of materials (sands, gravel, rock, ect)
Creating organically beneficial, sustainable environments is something we value greatly.

We'd love to know if you have any upcoming events or if you ever provide links to organic products for your viewers. Any way we can get involved in furthering the sustainable mission, just let me know!

Best,
Ashley

Cathi:

I hadn't heard that before, but I also know that I've heard of clay being used as a method of "cleansing" in humans. The one thing that I hate about the corn litter is that they've odorized the stuff.

Marci:
Yup, it's amazing where you find plastic. Do we really need a little window to see the pretty design on the paper wrapper of a tampon? At this point, I don't think that I'll ever get it completely out of my house, all I do is be vigilant in trying to keep it out and not buying it so mindlessly. My art supplies all have plastic and when's the last time you saw a sewing machine or camera that didn't have some plastic part? Very very frustrating.

So, mindless plastic happens to you too! I feel better. I thought about trying to be plastic-free for the month, but it would require buying all new food storage stuff. It is unbelievable how it really is everywhere when you pay attention. And it would mean a dairy-free February too (hadn't thought about the plastic spout on paper milk cartons). The litter box dilemma is real! And what about contact lenses? And all of the plastic-packaged personal care and cleaning products (and toilet paper!)? For now, mindful purchasing and diligent recycling is the best I can do. Thanks for sharing!

When cats clean their little toes, they can ingest the clay and then it swells in the GI tract, potentially causing problems. The corn litter is digested, the cellulose passes naturally in the the stool.
